Senior Republicans condemn the decision as anti-Israeli

US House Democrats on Tuesday removed a provision to fund Israel’s Iron Dome anti-missile shield to the tune of $1 billion in order to keep the federal government running through the end of the year.

House Democrats introduced the bill earlier on Tuesday with the Iron Dome proposal in it, alongside funds for disaster relief and Afghan evacuee resettlement, including $20 billion for hurricane and wildfire aid and $6 billion for tens of thousands of Afghan refugees.
