Having a phone number gives people who live in residential hotels dignity, and helps them find jobs, health care and other services. Jeff Buckley is executive director of the San Francisco Central city SRO Collaborative, and a former LifeLine customer. He helps San Franciscans gain access to social programs, including universal LifeLine.
He is testifying before the California Public Utilities Commission (CPUC) about the importance of keeping LifeLine affordable and with a flat rate, and rejecting the voucher system proposed by AT&T and Verizon.
