While regional nations meet about the stability in Afghanistan, the Taliban are struggling to provide that much-needed stability and security. Since their take over this past summer, there’s been a surge in violence. ISIS-K, The local affiliate of the so-called Islamic State has claimed responsibility for dozens of suicide bombings. And the Taliban’s unfulfilled promise of protection is leaving Afghans feeling unsafe.
