Responding to calls for the resignation of Eskom leadership, Eskom CEO André De Ruyter said it is important to note that the executives are appointed by the board, in turn appointed by the Minister of Public Enterprises and in turn appointed by the president. "We serve at the pleasure and discretion of the board," he said in a briefing on Tuesday.
De Ruyter said he does not intend to resign.
