Webbs depth of knowledge created by Norman Webb is fully discussed with visuals to help educators. Webb’s depth of knowledge is explained given the following questions such as why should we use Webb’s Depth of Knowledge, What is Depth of Knowledge and lastly, When should we use Webb’s DOK? This video provide an understanding of how Webbs depth of knowledge is different than blooms taxonomy. It compares the two on similarities and differences. But going back to Webbs depth of knowledge, this video is intended to help educators utilize it in the classroom to guide instruction and increase student achievement. This lesson also explore the different knowledge levels of Webb’s. Knowledge level 1, recall and reproduction, is explored through examples. Each of the knowledge levels, recall and reproduction, skills and concepts, strategic thinking, and extended thinking are all described with examples. The video differentiates all of the different knowledge levels of Webb’s depth of knowledge. Ultimately, this video will help teachers get improve instruction and add rigor to their learning environment.
