What is an Intensive?

Twice a year at Hawken’s Upper School, students take classes called Intensives. Meeting all day long for three consecutive weeks, an Intensive class provides an in-depth, uninterrupted deep dive into a topic. During Intensives students are engaged in experiential learning and have the ability to travel in Cleveland, throughout Ohio or abroad. Intensive course topics range from core subjects to innovative interdisciplinary explorations. All costs associate with Intensives are included in Hawken’s tuition making the courses accessible to all students.
